Title: Where to pattern shotgun in Western WA (Seattle area)
Post by: scotrobe on January 25, 2018, 09:19:53 AM
I'm looking for somewhere for my son and I to pattern our shotguns in the Seattle area. (We live in Woodinville.) The local ranges, like the one in Bothell, have trap shooting but nothing that allows us to pattern or to target practice for the turkey season.

Does anyone in this forum know where we can go to do this?  Thanks in advance.

I know that there are spots in Monroe where you can shoot, but I don't know where they are specifically.

However, if you go around 30 miles east on Highway 2, you're in the National Forest and can shoot wherever it is safe to do so.

Cool. Thanks. Those are both good ideas. I’ll check into both.

The Seattle rifle and pistol club in machias, north of Snohomish, has an actual pattern board that you can shoot at. Not sure of hours or when it’s open to non-members but check out the website or give them a call.

Awesome. Thanks a lot. I’ll check that out

The shotgun range has open to the public hours for trap. Most likely you will need a member to take you for blasting the pattern board.

Renton gun club has a patterning lane.

There should be a stickied thread that has gun ranges in Washington, what’s available and if it’s members only or if the public is welcome. Keep seeing threads that ask the same thing.

Go shoot at Stillwater or cherry valley in Duvall if you have migratory bird since it’s still open. Obviously don’t blow anyone’s hunts

I thought about that but there is a very prominent sign at the entrance of both that says no target practice.

Shooting targets at any of the release sites in the valley is a negative.
Also don’t know of any place to target shoot in Monroe. Best bet is to head east on highway 2. I’ve heard there are places to shoot up the Sultan Basin road but can’t confirm that. National forest is legal further yet east.

There are plenty of places off Hwy 2. Just be sure you pick up your casings and garbage as I am tired of picking up after people.
