Title: Alaska Guide Creations Bino System
Post by: KillerBeee on January 29, 2018, 10:32:17 AM: I picked up one of these at the Sportsman's Show this weekend. The smallest case, which was the Cub, fit my Nikon 10x42 with room to spare. Seems like a functional arrangement and the show price at 80 bucks out the door was good.
Who has used these and how do they fare in very wet weather? Due to the type of case, I wonder how the moisture factor and fogging will be.

I would recommend spending a couple bucks and getting autolock buckle sets for the shoulder harness.

Post by: JM on January 29, 2018, 12:24:46 PM: I've had mine fog up if it's been raining hard enough. The other issue is the straps loosing, I've even double looped them through the cinches or anything else that I could to try and keep this from happening with no luck.

They seem to be a good bino harness, but I don't have much to compare them to.

Post by: OltHunter on January 29, 2018, 12:28:40 PM: I got the X50 off BlackOvis during a sale for $80. I haven't had any issues in 2 seasons but I blast mine with waterproofer before each season and I would recommend a bino shield, they make one. I used my old Kuiu one.

I love mine, and like the ability to store my range finder in the front, winder in the left, and rain shield in the right with lens cleaner/anti-fog/rag where it fits.

I think just storing binos wet will be the issue. But you can also stuff a rag/water absorbent towel in a side pouch too and wipe them down before putting them back in if really wet and storing them under a rain jacket when not in use helps as well.

I also had the strap issue, but i took my buckles off and flipped them around and that seemed to work enough for me....very odd that issue pops up and I've heard it a lot.

Post by: CaNINE on January 30, 2018, 07:53:47 AM: I've been using the CUB for the past two seasons. I've run several bino systems prior and none of them measure up to the AGC. I treated my CUB with KIWI waterproofing spray and carry the optional rain cover in the side pouch for when things really get nasty. Never had a problem with condensation or dust. I carry my sig range finder tethered in the front pocket and a bottle of wind check on the other side. I don't carry anything in the top elastic pocket - I've had items fall out of there so don't trust it for carry. I have my tags in the rear zip pocket.

it wears well over time. Takes a beating and little damage to outside material.
Mine has been thru the AZ Superstition Wilderness, occasionally dragged while crawling stalking coues bucks>high country Utah alpine of Pine Valley>SE Cal chasing desert muley bucks> scouting elk trips in NM area 16 units and my usual deer and elk hunts in WA
not a tear or any visible damage, little bit of abrasion in a spot from AZ Catclaw bushes.

as mentioned earlier, under jacket or rain jacket if in a downpour.
If this AK binoc case were waterproof, it would be PERFECT.
