Hello all, i have the opportunity to hunt private land outside of ellensburg on some family property. Noticed on the GMU map its call elk area 3911, if i have permission to hunt the private property am i also required to apply for special permit for the unit?
Thanks for any help i appreciate it

Are you referring to this season or next season? There aren't any general seasons open now. If you are referring to a general season next year you would not need a special permit.

thats correct, im referring to next season..
Thanks Bob

3911 is a boundary for a Master Hunter hunt..... and you need your Master hunter permit for that.
3911 partially overlaps several GMU's. You'd need to know which GMU the land is in and hunt to those rules (not all of 3911 has the same rules during general season..... some is spike; some is true spike. )
Hope this helps.

I noticed on the Onx map the area in question is referred to as GMU 334 so im going with that for the time being.
thanks for the info

Just be aware that modern firearms cannot be used for elk in GMU 334. You can use a shotgun with slugs, muzzleloader, or archery during modern firearm season if you wish.
