Here is my 570 Ranger, I’m learning that these thing are like lego’s or Ar-15’s. Accessories and mods are endless. I have since added a winch, double gun boots, and light bars, next is street legal kit and some kind of stereo/ intercom system.
Not to hijack this thread but do any of you trail ride? There is a utv/atv poker run in Vantage in March. Conconully is hosting a 3 day atv/utv jamboree in June. And the big one is Rally in the pines in Salmon Idaho that’s 4 days of riding and events. I and some friends will be attending these and would love to maybe have a hunt wa group ride maybe?

I run Rigid Industries on my pickup and had them on my Jeep... expensive and very nice lights, but on this I opted for ones from amazon and they are pretty sweet. Can’t tell the difference in brightness between these and my Rigids... I will get the name of them and let you know.

Thanks, I am familiar with those. I am looking for pods to flood light the front wheel area and to the sides. Light bars are so focused on the front views its been hard to see the up close and left right area when slow crawling rough stuff. Do your lights do that well? I was looking at the Oaks diffused beam pods but they are pricey. For a led bar I will go with a cheaper brand with true cree or osrams for fair price as I am not concerned with seeing a million feet ahead! I think a 1000' is plenty. Also trying to keep wattage draw below 150watts for stator/battery reasons. Honda looks like it has a wheel spacer kit?

No spacer kit. I am looking at tracks for it, but right now I am happy with the cheap stock rims and tires. They do all I need them to do.
I was looking for the same thing you were regarding the lights. These are really good at showing all the areas I need for rock crawling and night time fun. As you can tell, the angle I have them on the bumper bars is exactly where I needed them to give me continuous light from the bar to the wheel areas. I like that the bar has flood style lights mixed in and then the smaller pods are just flood. It works great stacked like this.
All in all, I am really happy with these lights and light bar setup. You are more than welcome to check them out if you want if you are close. I am always willing to hit an ORV park or somewhere else we can off-road as well.

Katmia Guy..........I missed your question.
I only have experience with my rig, but my comments may apply to other rigs as well. I don't really have any negatives. Just some precautions and things I learned the hard way.
Tracks raise the final gear ratio, ie: if your odometer says you have traveled 10 miles, you have actually only traveled 6 miles. The speedometer is off and the fuel usage goes up as compared to riding with tires. The gear ratio change leads to running out power in wet, soft snow even in low range and I would consider the 700cc to be the minimum engine size for tracks. I ride in low range nearly all the time, so smoking the drive belt is not an issue, but even with a clutch kit I have smoked the belt a little in high range. In dry cold snow I have been in 6 or 7 feet of snow and only left a 4or 5inch deep track with 2 people on the bike. Starting to move the bike after stopping in deep snow is not a problem at all. It will take me places I probably shouldn't go...LOL. Even with power steering, I have been unable to turn the handle bars in some snow conditions and requires a little effort to turn around.
Otherwise, be careful and have fun.

Interco LTB, Super Swamper LT tire. 31x11.50, little on the heavy side but wont be replacing tires every year. Have 1500+ miles with very little wear. Excellent traction, strong sidewalls. Run 3-5 pounds of air.

Love my Pioneer! 2016 Honda Pioneer 1000-3 EPS. Got a 3 piece light bar set for Christmas that still needs to be put on, planning to upgrade the suspension and get a winch this year. And tracks someday! @chevyistop thanks for the info on the jamborees! We've done the Conconully one before, and ride there 2-3 times/year, but I've never attended one at Vantage or Salmon, ID. Sounds like a blast! We ride in Wallace 2-3 times/year also, great riding over there!

Nice looking Honda, The vantage ride is a NMA poker run series event. And the # of UTVs has exploded at it and is lots of fun. And the One in Salmon looks like a lot of fun. We booked it in December. If you decide to go let me know, maybe we can get a big camp set up. Vantage I’m going solo, but Idaho the wife Is going and we are meeting other friends there. So the more the merrier. We have a 570 ranger that we will probably take to Idaho but just bought a RZR that should be here this next week for vantage.

That sounds awesome, I really want to do the Idaho one but we're just starting construction on a new home so I doubt we'll be able to get away during that time. We could possible make the vantage ride though, as it's less than an hour from home. Will let you know if we plan to go. And congrats on your new RZR, be sure to post pics when you get it!

I am half tempted to sell my utv and get a four wheeler. It will be easier to take my travel trailer out with an atv vs the utv. Currently I have to trailer the utv and I have been looking at the utv truck racks, but loading a vehicle that high on my pickup kind of scares me lol.

It is a 2017 Honda Pioneer 700-4. Typical aftermarket stuff like windshield, soft top, lights, winch, and a pretty sweet aux panel. I also have a new echo trailer I would get rid of with it... can’t remember the exact specs on the trailer off hand.
Super low miles/hours being I purchased it September last year lol

Not exactly sure if I want to get rid of it yet or not, but the thought is there. I love being able to take kids out with the rear seats, but a four wheeler makes more sense most of the time.

if you have a long bed truck, trade it in for a pioneer 500. I put mine in my truck when i tow trailer, i have extender brackets I put on the tailgate and it is about 10 inches from closing. Best of both worlds.
-
my cousin built a ramp infront of his long bed that when he pulls it up he can get his pioneer 700 in his bed with tailgate closed.
-
Unfortunately, I have the short bed. I was thinking of a rack that goes over the cab, but it might be a PIA to take it off and on as needed. I can pull my truck into the garage and use a pulley system because my truck sits too high and my garage door is too low lol.
I guess another option would be to trade my trailer in on a toy hauler.

I like those diamondback covers. I will have to measure the utv and see if it fits with their extenders. Their website is pretty helpful on fit/measurements. Good idea.
I will do some measurements. My trailer has the big fiberglass cover in the front that covers the propane tanks and make it closer to the tailgate, so I need to measure a few things, but if it works out, I agree, this is the way too go.
Here is my truck and trailer... for an idea of what I am working with. I like those wildcat maxx trailers. Little to spendy when I bought. Probably next one.
-
It should fit inside your Ford bed, barely, width. Length maybe not. With tailgate down it would likely fit. If you build a ramp/runner extending 6-12" past bed floor and up over wheel wells it would sit pretty. I fit RZR 50" in my shorty Dodge, barely. :dunno:

I have no complaints on the wildcat maxx, except the cost. I definitely recommend them. Fortunately, I received a great deal from the dealer on this one because the previous trailer I bought from them had so many issues. They took the first one back after two years and use only being able to use it 4 times because of issues, and then they worked with me on the price with this one... I am pretty happy overall.

It will fit width wise over the wheel wells. The utv is 60” wide and the width of my bed is 69”. I will measure tomorrow with the tailgate down, but I think it will be too long. The pioneer is about 115” long and my bed before putting the tailgate down is about 81”.
I need to measure the length of the pioneer from the front bumper to the rear tires and see where that falls in relation to the length of the bed with the tailgate down.
If it looks like it will work, I will have to figure out the best way to secure/strengthen the tailgate cables or build a ramp system. Thanks for the idea, I will look into it. If it works and doesn’t hang too close to the front of the trailer, I will have a Tonneau cover for sale lol.

https://diamondbackcovers.com/
These look awesome. Seriously thinking of topping the new Dodge with one.
I love mine. I can squeeze my 750 and 800 on there, still use my truck bed for gear and pull a trailer. keeps the bed dry too.
Just placed my order....man they are proud of their product...... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: Reviews all look amazing so the price should be worth it. I will update with pics when it arrives and is installed.

not sure how high your truck is but mines up there a ways. it can be a bit of a pucker moment loading. I suggest 4 low and crawl up. when I first got mine I had a couple rodeo moments..

:tup:Love the white doors! For the RZR guys I recommend the Cooter Brown roofs from EMP!

RIVERRAT,
Those are the nicest bumpers I've seen. I talked to the guy who makes them and almost had one made for my little RZR S 570... Very nice looking on your machine.

Thanks mudman and Campmeat. Update: New door graphics. The new name for the group of good friends that ride and hunt together with. "REDNECK RidgeRunners" Anyone going to the Poker Run in Vantage in March. Say Hi if you are!!

For those of you trying to figure out how to haul your sxs and still use a bumper pull trailer...this is what you get when you're married to a carpenter :chuckle:

I'm not a big UTV fan... that is until I heard Mahindra Tractor is making an old CJ styled jeep for the off road only market.

I am looking into buying a side by side. Anyone have any info good or bad about the Cub Cadet models. Seem to be a little cheaper than the big name brands. Might be one of those you get what you pay for deals.
-
Not sure what size engine your looking at but take a look at the Honda pioneer 500. New ones are priced at 8500 and have auto and paddle shifter mode. Speed tops out at 42 but fast enough for me. Great little machines for the price.

That vantage poker run sucked with all the bumps and the *censored* rzr and canam guys thinking they need to goose it and throw dirt on ya when you pull over to let them pass.
A couple of them got the middle finger.
-
Yes, lots of whoops, but I had a blast. I pulled over for a few faster people but didn’t notice any a holes. But I’m sure there was plenty. Had a brand new rzr turbo 4seater roll over and get totaled in front of me. All 4 people got out dazed but uninjured.
-
Looks like fun!
-
Ya I helped pushed a rzr back on to all 4 wheels and saw several rzrs with broken axles or changing belts.
-
Crazy! Always fun to get down and dirty in the middle of it all at those type of events!

Was it that all black 4 seater? I know a few people stopped to help. I would have said hi if it was
-
No I think this one had a bunch of white on it.

I wasn't able to make it last weekend, looks like it was a good turn out! It's too bad some of you had to deal with a-holes, but it seems like that's common anymore. At least you had good weather and got some fresh air! I'd love to see some more pics if you guys get a chance
