Putting up some numbers
-
Like the pictures. Nice pinch in the culvert.
-
That beaver was number 29 taken from 3 adjoining landowners in last 12 months. Started as a WCO job for one and neighbors hired me also. The biggest landowner had cottonwoods and pine trees the government planted along the stream to provide shade and erosion control for fish habitat and the beavers were destroying the trees so I lucked out.

Stacking them up

Thanks Machias. Big difference in colors. One was dark belly and other was silver belly.

Picked up another otter last week

Beautiful day on the trap line today. After finding a hole in the first swim through on the creek likely made by an otter I was happy to catch an otter in the next set up stream 100 yards. My next swamp produced a nice muskrat and a 45 pound beaver.
The otter is in one of Bruce (Humptulips ) nice folding traps. I love those

Nice Cat
-
Great cat! How much did he weigh?
-
 big Tom I'm guessing 26lbs
-
My buddy weighed it at 23. I think he should be in the 25 pound range but his belly was empty and I wonder if the Tom's lose weight during breeding season. Regardless I am thrilled to catch such an awesome creature and to share it with my buddy. The best part is he wants his taxidermist to mount it lifesized jumping for a Blue grouse if his wife agrees. I will get to enjoy without footing the bill for the mount. Funny he thought a car was coming as we admired it in the cage but it was the cat growling at us. I had to laugh when he reached to pull branches off the cage and the cat lunged clawing the cage and hissed us my buddy flinched.
-
Awesome Job Ivan great cat very happy for you!
