Title: Zeiss or Leupold
Post by: Jeremiah P on March 09, 2009, 04:08:08 PM: Now that I've got my new gun I need a scope for it. I can't decide which to go with, leaning toward a 6.5 - 20 x 50 but not sure if I should go with the conquest or mark 4. Anyone have advice on either scope, likes, dislikes, etc.

Post by: whacker1 on March 09, 2009, 04:30:52 PM: I bought two scopes in the last 6 months. Both Zeiss Conquest's. I put the 3.5 x 10 x 44 on my 270 with the z-600 reticle. My wife then bought me a .300 RUM for my birthday and put the 4.5 - 14 x 50 AO MC with hunting turrets and the z-800 reticle. I convinced myself that I like Zeiss better. I think it is better glass, and from what I heard the Conquest line is assembled by Leupold. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, but this is my preference.

Post by: Jeremiah P on March 11, 2009, 04:29:42 PM: After going and checking them out again I went with the leupold, I really like the fact that they will make me custom turrets for only $70 bucks all I have to do is give them all my bullet data and zeroed in range. And if I have any problems their not far away.

So with this knob you site your gun in, and then adjust it for the long distace? is it pretty accurate? noisey?

What type of retical do you have on the scope.

Post by: ihunt on March 13, 2009, 05:01:19 PM: my gun shoots 3060 fps 168 berger 7mm site in at 250yds and they built the knob for my balistics. never had a probelm with the zero there is no noise differents with it. longest shot was 565yds on a mule deer and 2 others at 425yds. duplex reticle
