Sapphirehawk.
Before someone chimes in with multiple brands, I would guess pick your favorite....unless Rob wants you to vote more than once.

I bought an old PSE Baby G from a friend that upgraded. I really like it, but after shooting the Bowtech's, Mattews and Hoyt's at the pro shop, I want a new one.

Traded my Martin Bengal for the Hoyt Katera. The Martin shot great but 3 sets of limbs in 11/2 years got old fast. Now The Katera shoots 450 gn arrows at 302fps and shoots just as sweet.

When I got stationed at Andrews 5 years ago I bought a PSE Nova at Bass Pro. It shoots great, only thing I have changed was the site and rest the second season and the cable and strings this past summer. Not a bad bow I have killed over 40 deer with it in 5 years of using it.

The reason is the bag limits for deer in the area of Maryland that I hunt is is 10 does and 2 bucks with each weapon. (shotgun, archery, muzzleloader) Also the area I hunt in is classified as a Bow Deer Suburban zone where it is umlimited number of does.  Plus I was on the deer team on base and we could hunt year round with approval of the DNR.

Robb92, no need to explain, I understand some states are overrun with deer. When I went to N.Carolina to visit inlaws I checked the regs and the limit was a deer a day for the entire season :chuckle: I was simply saying WOW :yike:

While this is true, I have found that the whitetail deer here are much more huntable than the ones back east.

From my experience, there are also a lot more older age class bucks in eastern washington.

I use bowtech right now, but I have had a mathews for 18 of the last 20 years.

I didn't post it because I thought you were taking the mickey, just showing that the bag limits are so high.

I have posted before, if anybody wants to come back east to deer hunt the invitation is open from sept 15th to jan 31 when the archery season closes. Its all on private land that is owened by a semi-retired judge who lives on the property.

I'd like to know where what deer you are hunting back east.  I grew up hunting deer back east and after the first day the deer would go nocturnal.

It was like clockwork.

Maybe you were hunting deer that were more use to humans?

I hunt by the moon phases, alot of people laugh at it but it does work, I get the chart and will hunt by it, so far seems to work pretty good. The weather does effect the deer movements also, the 07 hunting season started with 85 degree temps opening day and the deer were almost nocturnal until around end of Sept first part of October, then they started to move more during the day, but so far that was the worst season I only took 3 deer that year.

The deer back in WA are a lot bigger body wise than the ones here. Alot of people compare them body wise to a german shepard.

See I went a different route years ago but it isn't on the list, a Jennings bow, kept within the bounds of the family name "JENNINGS"....................
and a of course a custom made Reed Stewart Long Bow that I don't shoot enough to do anything but outright suck with it right now....

Thoughts a new bow (mine is from the late 90's) oh my goodness how have I survived  :dunno:and gotten animals with it, oh I am such a bad person for shooting an old bow....  :bash: Anyhow thoughts of a new one are creeping into my head once again this year, some of the reports are making my decisions easier for sure.  Guess I just need to head to a good dealer and see what feels right for me...

Right now I'm still on the fence about whether I am going to get the Hoyt Alpha Max 32 or the Bowtech Admiral.  I still have a month or so to decide.  It's so damn hard though they are both such great bows.  I think the Hoyt is just a touch better though.
