What would be a recommendation for the best Thermal Vision Sight for night time hunting being able to see things up to 200 yards at least. Looking to buy an upgrade for my AR 15. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you ever get one? It appears this group doesnt have many interested in seeing in the dark.

Night Ops brand is one I've seen on the Sportsmen's channel.
The guy is a die-hard yote hunter and uses night vision scopes. $$

a buddy has a Pulsar qx38, played with it last night, its amazing what you can see..

Trijicon ReapIR

Reaper isnt thermal..
If you want the BEST thermal, they are upwards of 8-10K

Interested yes. Flush with cash for a short life scope, no. Remember that this is an electronic device with a shelf life, not a life time Leupold.

A shelf life? Explain?

Remember that thermal scopes are a super complex computer imaging system. Just about all the thermal scope companies only offer a one to three year warranty against defects, with ATN offering a limited 10 year warranty on specific scope components.
The electronics in the imaging system just do not last like a normal rifle scope does.
So, in effect once you pay out the money, use it while you can.

How long do you think a thermal scope is good for?
