Looked at trailers today, 5X10, with 24 inch tall front and side walls, fold down ramp tail gate, one made of steel and one aluminum. The Aluminum one is 400 lbs lighter than the steel one (the sales guy says). The aluminum one looks really nice. The steel one is $500.00 cheaper. Same size wheels, same load ratings. :dunno:
What to do?

I just took my little 5x8 steel utility trailer in today to get a spring over mod. There wasn't much clearance between the wheel and fender when hauling firewood. Supposedly moving the springs over the axle it will add 3-4 inches of clearance.

What is your purpose for it?

:) to haul some junk around that I do not want inside my car. little fire wood, lawn mower, lumber, plant or tree, why?

In that case go with the steel one, easier to modify if you want to work on it like welding on it. $500 will take a long time to eat up in extra fuel costs.

that makes sense, I will use it very little so the weight means very little.
thanks

Aluminum ones get stolen for scrap more often. 2c
