Anybody know much about these? Looking to pick one up - it's a 243 , stainless , laminate stock, 26" heavy barrel and hardly fired

I have an older one in a plastic (fiberglass?) stock in the All Weather version in .308 Win. It shoots about an inch at 100 yards with the slim profile barrel and takes a beating very well.
I would buy another M77 Mark II.

I have multiple Rugers, from 25-06 on up to .338wm, all shoot quite well, all of them have had a trigger put in them.

I have two Ruger M77s MkII, one in 7MM, one in 30-06, both with beautiful wood stocks. Both good rifles, shoot MOA with factory ammo. I have never had an issue with either.
Good solid hunting rifles.

I have this in 7mm. It’s a good solid action. I really enjoy mine.

I love the look of the Ruger target grey finish. :tup:
I’ve had a couple of the MK II 77s and I really like them. My only complaint about them is the short mag box. Their long actions only take a 3.400” OAL.

Back around 1999 or so. I picked up the first Grey Super Redhawk to hit town in .454 Casul. Really liked it and I really liked the grey finish. That's a good looking rifle!

i've got a $300 pawn shop stainless beater 30-06 with the boat paddle stock. bought it because i didn't really have any guns chambered for "normal" cartridges in my safe :chuckle: figured i could use a backup hunting rifle, and i've really warmed up to the thing. i almost got rid of it too, it would shoot 4" groups at 100 yards until i messed with the trigger. brought it down to about 4lbs from the original 7.5lb trigger, now it shoots 1" groups with cheapy 150gr cor-lokts.
i'd love to find a wood stocked one in .280 or .25-06 too.

I own several Rugers, they all shoot very well. A new trigger is a must unles you purchase a older M77 with factory adjustable.

Built like a tank MKiis upgraded to mod70 style safety vs tang style, which belongs on cheap mossbergs in my humble opinion

I own several and they are great hunting rifles. Very solid and I actually have always liked their proprietary rings, they are solid n well built. I think some of the varmint models had upgraded factory triggers and their newer models have a new trigger that is better. Triggers were always their weak point out of the factory. A few of mine shoot very well and all are acceptable. With the Mauser style claw extractor they are not real smooth, but are very reliable and smooth up well. I have always liked the look of the brushed stainless with laminate stocks. I actually wish they still had the ugly boat paddle stocks, those things were bombproof!

Ive had one with the heavy barel in 25-06 for probably 20+ years?? It has performed flawless other than being heavy! Taken quite a few deer with it and countless varmits,
