Proud to announce confirmation of my Life Membership in the NRA today. Got the special 2018 over half-price deal at the link below. Price still nearly cleaned out my savings, but was well worth it to me, especially in these crazy times we live in!
No organization is perfect and I'm sure everyone has their own opinions, but I believe that the NRA is the single best organization at this point that is working to protect our God given gun rights and promote responsible gun ownership and shooting activities. I know first hand that my local gun club wouldn't exist without generous grants from the NRA, which is where the joy of shooting begins for many newcomers. Support the NRA!

Most excellent!!! Welcome to the club. I am a life endowment member. My wife and two kids are all life members as well. It is a good group to belong to.

A lot of people bitch about the NRA because they did something they don't agree with.......bottom line is, without the NRA, the 2nd A would be GONE!!
-
Right on!
-
Welcome. Endowment here.
I don't always agree with their positions or methods ( a little unhappy and confused currently) but there is no auguring that they are the Elephant in the room when it comes to gun issues. Without the NRA our rights under the second would be doomed.
-
I'd like to hear some numbers of how many new members they have, the news would freak out.

The news doesn't care. The way it is reported, the NRA is an autonomous organization funded by the gun industry that is acting against the vast majority of the people. It isn't treated the same as any other member driven lobbying group.

Life NRA and GOA last week.

If you all don't mind me asking what does a lifetime member cost? Do veterans get a discount? I ain't a member, never figured I needed to be, I served, fought and just figured that was good enough, my son has done the same!! What about us that have no issues fighting a real fight if the time came against fellow Americans , would being a member help in that respect ?

Link is in the first post.

You get a ring as well with membership?

A lot of members can gift a membership for significantly less than an original. I would have to look but it may be an option to save a few bucks. It also would give you the option to potentially upgrade to an endowment member for a regular member cost. :dunno:

From one Lifer to another...welcome to the club!

Nope have to pay extra. Got lucky and found a gently used one for a good price.
The $600 deal that I found in the link in the OP comes with an included “Rangeland” cotton insulated jacket (kinda like a Carhartt) with the NRA logo, or if you pay the regular full $1500 price you get a leather NRA bomber jacket

Absolutely.....the politicians only look at the numbers....the more members, the more pull we have.

Been a lifer for several years, don't always agree with them but they are the biggest group protecting the 2nd amendment!

Washington has been ranking No. 1 for state-candidate contributions from NRA. Here’s why

I've been a life member since I was 12.
Both my father and grandfather where/are life members, my teenage son has been a life member since he was 2.
By far the most important group fighting for the American way of life. Without the 2nd Amendment the rest are just some ideas on a piece of paper.

Somewhat. The biggest check cut by the NRA was $5,900. That's "deep pockets" if you are the Seattle Times. What do you think the teacher's union, Amazon, Microsoft, and Bloomberg have put in?
-
I think my handle speaks for itself. Been a member now for 32 years.

We fight extremists on the antigun front every day - we have to have a strong voice on the far right to have any hope of holding a middle ground. Even if you are a middle ground proponent recognize that it takes a hard line approach just to reach to middle ground we are trying to save. Especially now as the assault rifle battle we thought was over is rearing its ugly head.
-
Thank you, NRA.

But even as Frockt tried to line up the 25 votes needed to pass the bill, gun-rights organizations ramped up an opposition campaign.
The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action website posted seven alerts over two weeks urging its supporters to oppose the bill.
...
NRA spokesman Lars Dalseide and Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, also cited their opposition to the age-limit provision.
The Citizens Committee sent out an alert urging 110,000 supporters in the state to oppose the deal, Gottlieb said. Carlyle said many of the messages he received were a type of form letter and often didn’t come from residents of his district.
“I would get them from Enumclaw and Vancouver and Bellingham as much as I would get from my own district,” he said, adding later, “In terms of sheer numbers, you have to admire the impressive lobbying effort of the NRA.”

Life Patron Member. Won't forget attending the 1985 convention in Seattle.
"Freedom's Leading Man," Academy Award-winning actor Charlton Heston served as NRA president from 1998 to 2003. Never before, or since, has anyone been elected to three consecutive terms as president.
"I'll give you my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead hands".

Won't forget attending the 1985 convention in Seattle.
I was there as well...My Dad pulled me out of school and took my grandpa and I on the life member only day...I was young think it was a Thursday. I still have memories of all the venders...literally I was a kid in a candy store.
With the 676 BS in the mid 90's Heston was at a rally in Spokane, I got chills when he pulled the Kentucky long rifle out and did his "from my cold dead hands" It sent kills down my spine...When Moses speaks you don't forget it.

 Was that the day the tower crane fell? Good thing the ferry was a little late. We would have been walking up the street when it came down. :yike:

I don't remember a Crane coming down...you got me

I was at the 1997 convention here when Charlton Heston made a surprise visit. Took me 2 full days to see everything. I had lived here only a couple weeks at that point after moving from MO. Those were great days for America.

I am a NRA Endowment Member. I was at that same NRA National Event in Seattle in 1997 when Charlton Heston was there. I also went to the NRA National Event in Atlanta in 2017. I met the renowned shooter Jessie Harrison (Duff) there, who is absolutely gorgeous and super-duper nice. Very fun. Will be going to the NRA National Event in Dallas this year.

Thank you NRA, for keeping Congress in your grip.
“With Congress in the grip of the D.C. gun lobby and too many state legislatures failing to act, our cities must lead the way — and we must all continue to demand action that saves lives.”
