According to the "Blue Book of gun Values" What I understand the insurance companies use
If it is a 99EG post war 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
525. 475. 425. 365. 315. 275. 250.
Manufactured from 1946 to 1960
Hope this helps

Post your picture over at the Savage Collectors forum at

When you describe it tell them if it's been drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

The 300 Savage makes a pretty nice deer gun especially in a great handling gun like the 99. I shot a 300 Savage 99 for alot of years someone made me a offer I couldn't refuse. I still have 99's in 25-35, 250-3000, 308, and 375 Win and just bought a Rem 722 in 300 Savage for a deer rifle.
