Everybody is different, but I prefer the angled eye piece. When sitting and glassing across canyons or drainages its easier on my neck to look down than straight ahead for 10 or 12 hours. I can acquire my target very quickly it just takes a little practice.

Angled. Much more versatile for improvised sighting positions.

They both have their place, I run angled. I like it better for long glassing sessions and finding animals that I didn't know were there. However when you want to quickly judge an animal that you have already found straight is nice, it's an easier acquisition. Also I think angled allows you to get away with a little bit smaller tripod as you are typically setting it lower and looking down at it, but they can be a pain for downhill glassing in steep country

Angled for me also. Ever sit at the bottom of a steep mountain and look at the top of it with a straight spotter compared to an angled? Its extremely uncomfortable with a straight spotter. After using an angled target acquisition isn't a problem.

The two pros for me with a straight are using it from a window mount. And when using my binos on the tripod I don't have to adjust my tripod to swap back and forth between binos and spotter.

A couple pros for the angled are comfort and you don't have to have the spotter as high off the ground to glass which helps it be steadier in the wind.

These are some of the main differences I've noticed using them.

For the field I use angled but in my buddy's truck looking off the window straight is the way to go.

My last one was an angled one but my new one is straight. The ability to switch between binos and spotter on the tripod without moving everything is why. I just need to learn to use it. So far the angled has been more comfortable imo but switching from binos to spotter made it a pain.
