OK so what are your thoughts? By the way I already voted!!!.......... :chuckle:
-
I would hold out for a nice one, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be 200+. That's where my vote went though.
-
:yeah:
-
For whatever the guy or gal that draws it wants to use it for.
-
I voted any buck, The trophy lies with the holder of the tag. If a guys happy shooting a 2,3 or 4 point Good for them.
Personally I would hold out for a nicer buck as I have taken lots of smaller ones but to each his own.
-
if it's their tag let them shoot whatever they want. If it's your tag you shoot whatever you want.
-
A deer raffle tag should be used for generating funds to put back into habitat and conservation.
aside from that, whatever the tagholder wants to shoot. a good portion of the hunters in this state don't care about horns, another good portion would just appreciate the extra time in the woods, another portion would want to only shoot for big horns, blah blah blah.
personally i'd be out for a nice respectable deer harvested in a respectful manner that made me proud to take.

x2
Unless it was in someones back yard then I'd want a hog.
-
I voted any buck. Not that I wouldn't want to hold out for a nice deer, but for me it would be more about the experience. I really want the blacktail raffle so I can rifle hunt velvet blacktails. I would want that mule deer raffle so that I can hunt my favorite hunting areas when the bucks are rutting. I probably wouldn't pass anything in the rut that I wouldn't pass if I got drawn for the late season tag in my hunting areas.
-
I voted to extend the season. The raffle is open to everyone regardless of their expectations and who am I to tell them what they have to do with it.
Obviously I would be using it for the opportunity to find that once in a lifetime Washington buck that you are unlikely to find during an established hunting season.

OK, who voted so other people couldn't get it?........................ :chuckle:

Well you put it up there, did you not expect some smart ass to vote for it? :chuckle:

I voted for extend the season. I could just imaging how many deer I would be able to sort through. I would just love the opportunity to pick and choose knowing I had ALL THAT TIME!!!!
-
There is no "any deer" I would think that since I won theoretically that I could kill what ever I could find in the given amount of time I have. I wouldn't waste a tag on the last day because I couldn't find the 200" buck!

I've shot many small and medium sized deer, I would hold out for the monster.
-
I chose extended season. now I would try to hold out for the biggest one....but to have the opportunity to be out there when no one else was.....that would be sweet!

I voted Monster, but I was torn between extending season. For me the goal is to find a once in a lifetime buck. But they offer multiple types of special permits in these various units, which I think appeals to lots of different types of hunters, and I think that probably raises the most money to be used for conservation, etc.
-
Obviously, I would try to hold out for a trophy, so I voted 200 incher, but I doubt I would have the kajones to pass on anything bigger than 170". Just being honest with myself...

I agree with you on that one!
-
I wouldnt hold out for a 200" deer but I would hold out for a solid 180" deer.
-
Hard to say until faced with the situation. I would go for the trophy but as time sliped by I'm sure an expected 200 class trophy could eventually turn into a fawn in the last remaining minutes. :dunno:
