Title: Funding For Wolves
Post by: Vine Maples and Cottonwoo on April 19, 2018, 09:19:26 PM
From the Everett Herald, 4/19/18-
Where wolves?: The University of Washington will receive $172,000 to figure out if wolves are recolonizing a 5,000-square kilometer area in the south Cascades and, if so, what it might mean to the area’s predator-prey dynamics. On a related front, the Department of Fish and Wildlife is getting $183,000 to assess if relocation is a viable means of advancing the recovery of wolves.

Thought you'd like to know.

So let me guess. This additional funding is coming out of the general funding which means the licensing, permits, etc has once more funded the wolves research, enhancement and paid for an over priced wolf advocate!!

License and permit dollars do not go into the general fund.  Funding is coming from the legislature.  At least some of it is.  Not sure about the UW funding.  I hope the lead does not have an agenda.

This is legislative driven.  WDFW is just following orders.

Interesting how our elected officials can direct the dept. and take no blame.  Even more interesting is how hunters fail to see it.
