Anyone else notice that they took away archery deer season in unit 418 altogether?
Anyone know if this is a mistake? I sure hope so!

It's either a mistake, or a last minute change, as 418 shows up in the proposals as being open for early archery.

Also no mention of 418 being removed from early archery in the presentation at the commissioner's meeting on April 13th:

Probably a tribe driven move, they got keys to that gated system so they could hunt "away" from folks. Next step just make sure there is no folks.

I’m almost positive that has nothing to do with it. I’m thinking it’s a mistake. Hopefully we can find out on Monday.

I just noticed that also. Hopefully it is a mistake, but I wouldn’t be surprised if wdfw pulled the plug for some reason.

What's that saying about assuming stuff? What gated system are you even talking about? 418 is mostly a mix of private timber (who allow free walk in hunting), and national forest...On second thought, yeah the hunting up here is terrible and overrun with evil tribal members, you stay down in Duvall and let us suffer in peace up here.

There is a large section of public land gated but tribal granted keys. Tell me again how I’m assuming? I’m a big fan of the access being equal on public land and if that gets me labeled so be it.

Native Americans have gate keys on much of the state land in Western Washington. I think it's ridiculous. If it's closed to motorized vehicles everyone should have to walk. It's not like they had cars and trucks to drive back when the treaties were signed. Sorry, kind of off topic but makes me so mad. >:(

You nailed it bobcat!

i'll bet it is an oversight. The proposed regulations read "407 through 426" whereas the published regulations list the individual GMUs. I think the person typing the GMUs took a coffee break at 417 and lost track where he was when he came back.

Coffee or pot.

Anyone hear anything more about this? I sent an email a few days ago and have yet to receive a reply. This would be a bummer if it doesn't change.
