Title: Morel question
Post by: jdb on May 12, 2018, 08:28:29 PM
Skunked again on my morel quest. Should I be looking more in stands of oak? Or pine/fir? Or maybe aspen?

I'm no pro at it but I did find a few on Friday. I looked in a logged out area near Cle Elum. I found them next to fir stands in the logging area. Either in or adjacent to where the tracks of the logging equipment churned up the earth and the firs kept the hot sun at bay. I found them mid slope, nothing up high. Forgot my gps so I can't say what elevation exactly. Good luck, they were great next to my steak tonight!

Maybe another week or two and they will be off of 410. I only found a grocery bag worth Thursday afternoon while I was back for a bit.
