Title: Blacktail Down
Post by: Antlershed on October 20, 2007, 10:58:16 PM: Went to Vail this morning and hunted the Skookumchuck side. Saw 4 does in the morning before dropping my dad back off at his truck. Then I headed back up to the same area. Spotted this guy bedded down about 100 yards away in the timber. One shot with the .270 and he never got out of bed. In the three days I have hunted this season, I have seen 30 deer, and this was the second buck I've seen. Thanks a million to the guy and his son that helped me pack it out of the hell hole it was in. Sorry for the garage shot, but it was raining way too hard to take the camera into the woods.

Post by: Antlershed on October 21, 2007, 07:25:49 AM: Thanks. I didn't weigh him, but he was pretty decent sized body wise. I forgot to mention that I shot him at 3:30pm and didn't get him back to the truck until 6pm.
