Title: 2019 Silverado
Post by: b23 on June 06, 2018, 12:05:16 PM
Have y'all seen the new 2019 Chevy Silverado?

I'm kind of a Ford guy, even though I currently drive a Tacoma, but these new 2019 Silverados are pretty sweet looking!  I've been hankering for a new truck and kinda had my eye on the new Raptor but there is no way I'm paying full retail plus $5-$10K, OVER, MSRP.  So I started looking at other options and though they aren't out yet, from the pictures I've seen, the new 2019 Chevy's are a very nice looking ride.

Curious if others have paid much attention to them.

Ive got a 2017 Colorado I've had no issues with thus far.

My old man had a 2014 Silverado, recently traded up to the 2018. No issues there either.

I think its like any manufacturer nowadays - take good care of them and they will take care of you. Not to say there aren't a few exceptions.

That's pretty much how I've always viewed it as well.  I know there is definitely exceptions to the rule but I've always believed there are more bad owners than there are bad vehicles.

I used to be extremely brand loyal but anymore most of them are making a pretty good product so I tend to get what catches my eye and this new 2019 Silverado has definitely caught my attention.

They look nice.  Mechanically, they are a Chevy still.  Sorry, I'm just kidding.

Buy a dodge and never look back.

Or just uninformed owners... like the guy who buys an F150 then two years later decides to buy a big honkin' 5th wheel motorhome because the book says he can... then decides to tow it every weekend, then complains when his truck goes up after 80k...

Anyways! Good luck!

As soon as I can pay cash for a $45k truck, then I'll start looking......Otherwise I am certain that I would get the itch to finance one.

5th wheel motorhome

I'm generally up on things but I don't believe I've ever seen or heard of a 5th wheel motorhome.  :chuckle:

That's ok, I knew what you meant, I think.....

It'll be driverless by then, retrofitted for a hybrid engine (or battery) and probably have robots to load the bed.

A friend of mine just bought a 2018 Chevy 2500.  $52,000!!   :yike:  Just no way I could do it and I can afford one.  I'll just stay with my 2002 Tacoma until it dies.

And I got mine about 5 years ago..... 2004 F-150 4x4  cash price-$3800...current mileage 226000.
I still need to put another 68,000 miles to catch my Chevy 1500 that had 294,000 miles when I gave it away to my kid.

And 52K for a new truck is just kind of a mid level model.  It's crazy what these things cost now days.  Bought my wife a new Explorer Platinum last fall, I still can't believe what that cost.  :yike:

Hey, if you ever decide you want to update to a 2013 Tacoma I could help you out with that, low miles too.

pick up trucks, a few SUVs and a few sports cars are where the auto manufacturers make their profit.  They "lose" money on the economy class cars, but get recognition and volume to bring people to their truck lines.

Ya, that's gotta be about a 65K, or more, truck I'd imagine.  These new trucks are really nice, no doubt about it, but the price of them has gone crazy.

The last diesel I bought was a new 2004 Superduty Lariat diesel 4dr in the fall of 2004.  The only option it didn't have was a sunroof, otherwise it was loaded.  Bought it on the Ford X-plan, which saved me a little money, and it was $35,600 less tax.  Fast forward fifteen years and they are double that.  Crazy!!!

Making what?  25-30/hr?   Yeah, they’re broke.  Lol

That’s because they’re idiots and can’t really afford one.  Not only can they not afford one, but it sounds like they don’t really need one either.   Probably don’t have a pot to piss in, but they like the look they portray.

If you’re buying a new diesel and you don’t have at least 20-30k to put down, you probably shouldn’t be jumping in.   The next recession will weed out the idiots.

My son was showing me some pics of these yesterday and told me I need to buy one. He said my 2005 Duramax is too beat up and looks old so I need something nicer. When I asked him how the new truck would look after one weekend in the woods he just gave me a dumb look and asked why would I take it in the woods.

you should have seen the look I got from my Dad when I showed up to his place with a quarter inch coat of clay, mud, and granite sand covering every inch of that truck that didn't need to be seen through. that was a week after I bought it. Yeah it was expensive, but it is a pickup.  it will be used as a pickup. It will just be cared for meticulously and she'll stay nice and reliable for lots of years

Mechanically, I take great care of all my rigs. There are an awful lot of "love marks" on my truck though. Not to mention the smell of wet dog and raccoon urine (courtesy of an escalating prank war with my father in law). No amount of detailing can get that out! :chuckle:

Call Corey Fitzgerald at Country Chevrolet in Colville. He's a friend of mine and is part owner of the dealership and ask him to give you an out the door price on a chevy. I paid $42000 OTD for my new 2013 Duramax quad cab 4x4 LT.

Tell him Campmeat sent you.
