I have two 3 yr old Chocolate Labs that looks like I need to board somewhere the end of June for 7 or 8 days. Anyone have any good recommendations? Wife is going on a vacation and I have to head out of state for a job. Never had to do this before, so looking for someplace that will treat my girls right.

My wife and I used Hanas dog boarding out towards Marysville. She is very good with dogs. Might be a good one to look into. Her name is Hana Spitz.

We've used Paradise Pet Lodge in Maltby many times with great success.

I have heard good things about K9 Korral in Lake Stevens (yes it is spelled that way). Have dropped off and picked up my uncle's labs there...very clean and great dog people.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will look into those.

My uncle's kennel, conway kennels, might have room

A little further from you, but I was pleased with Conway Kennels last summer when I boarded my two Labs there. First and only time I've ever boarded my dogs. And reasonable cost..

We have used several of the ones mentioned above and weren't impressed. Over three separate trips with our two dogs staying at different kennels, they ended up going to the vet twice. All three times they came back with fleas or rashes and twice they came back with something else like kennel cough that required meds and rest to fix. Both dogs went in with every vaccine and normal health and came back less so. All three trips were to well known and recommended places.
Each time we called the kennel to let them know and they couldn't care less.
We have switched to having our neighbor take care of the dogs, or haul them to a family member even if it is a long way out of our way. In the long run, they have a much better time and end up healthier. I wouldn't use a commercial kennel unless it was the last resort.

:yeah: yea Bordatella is pretty common (kennel cough). my girls have run thru it and its highly contagious. Shots you get help reduce the time with cough but if one gets, they will all get as it runs course. wife was concerned enough to get course of antib's and that was way more than the stay at the kennels! and the kennels wont do anything to defer this cost~
