Title: Washington Pronghorn *update, fawns*
Post by: hunting4sanity on July 01, 2018, 06:57:17 PM
So are they pronghorn or antelope? Who cares, if they're in Washington they're awesome.
This guy might not be a trophy in Wyoming, but I was pretty excited to come across this buck with a doe yesterday morning.

I look every time I'm traveling the dry side.  Yet to see one, but anxious to do so.  So cool to have them doing well.

There seem to be a small number of them south of Prosser. I have seen a couple of fawns this year.

The buck I photographed at the start of this thread had always been with a doe. I kept hoping to see a fawn with her, but assumed she just didn't get pregnant this season, well today I found her with twins. Now, if she can just keep them away from predators.

that is cool. Lived in Burns, Or in the 70's and saw them all the time down there. They are fun to watch and quite amazing to see how fast they can run.

I rather enjoy watching them.  I sure hope they can get a foothold.  THanks for the pics

I'm jealous.  My company has a site in Paterson and everytime I go down there...   let's just say I'm probably not as focused on the road in front of me as I should be.

Haven't seen one yet; great to know they're around though!!

Sorry, no new pics, but this morning I did see both fawns again and they are doing good. Obviously the threat of predators is still there, but I'm guessing getting through the first few days is a big deal for a fawn/calf.

Thank you for the update and the pictures. I hope they make it. I do not get out that way much anymore. It is good that you can show us what a lot of us never get to see. Thank you.

I looked like Chevy Chase driving home tonight. I was coming home from work and spotted both antelope fawns. I hadn't seen them the last several times I had seen the doe and was sure the coyotes had gotten to them. It was a good ending to a long day.

Good news! I finally saw my first one down there a month ago, was very cool to finally see one here, it was  a buck and looked decent size but I have little comparison.

I haven't seen them in WA but very cool and look forward to being able to see them.  I might be worth heading over there and targeting some yotes.

It sounds like the road is getting a good fare share this year.
