I am new to this site, and also back in Washington after several years away. I have hunted the 1010 unit many years ago, but drew both 65+ and 2nd deer tag for the Washtucna area. I have no idea where to start to find a place to go. Since I am retired I can go hunting mid-week and also intend to go down to the area this summer to see if I can locate an area and get permission from a land owner to hunt. Where do I start looking...What is the "free to hunt" deal...Thanks for any info.

What exactly did you draw for 1010?

White tail doe

White tail doe
So you can shoot a general season doe in 1010 and a 2nd in Washtucna?

Actually I have a 65 + anterless and 2nd deer anterless in the Washtucna.

Finest eating deer in this state is an alfalfa ag fed whitetail doe....do good!

If you're questioning the WDFW free to hunt program, you can go to the GO HUNT mapping page on WDFW website and zoom in to find makers that correspond to lands secured for hunter access in that program. If you click on the marker, you get redirected to a page showing the particulars for each property. It shows mapping of the properties, hunting hours, directions/parking, and explains how to access (some require permission, some just a registration). Good luck!

Thanks all :)

Good luck with your hunt. 350 2nd deer tags in Washtucna, looks like they need to thin the herd? Big area.

Good Luck!
