American hunter faces outrage after taking photo with killed giraffe (http://thehill.com/homenews/395156-american-hunter-faces-outrage-after-taking-photo-with-dead-rare-giraffe-she-killed)
An American hunter is facing widespread backlash after posing with the body of a rare black giraffe she killed during a trip in South Africa.
South Africa-based AfricLand Post first posted the photos on social media, calling the woman a "white American savage" for hunting down a giraffe on the continent. The woman is Kentucky resident Tess Thompson Talley, according to USA Today.

Liberals are running out of tings to cry about. Funny that they have to dig something up that is more than a year old to create more fake outrage.
-
I am not a expert on African animals but I am pretty sure this rare black, is just a mature bull. I think when giraffe bulls get old they tend to turn blackish dark in color.
-
That is what I read. Mature, 18 year old male. To old to breed yet killed three males in their prime. Probably fed a huge number of locals and provided money to locals. I'd say nice job lady.
-
Yeah, from what I read the hunter said the bull was just old and thus darker in color. She said they got 2,000 pounds of meat off of it and it was too old to breed. Sounds like a great trophy.

The liberal whiners need to realize that the people that the giraffe fed can't afford the luxury of being vegetarian. She (the hunter)fed more hungry people than most of the crying libs have in one afternoon. Now i know that libs are not gonna argue that fact,Because the dem party does nothing for any black community.
Old giraffe, killed over a year ago the villagers were happy and thankful. They are not even allowed to own guns to feed themselves.
-
If it was a legally taken animal tough bananas, we have got to start standing up to this nonsense or they will keep chipping away and try to get all hunting outlawed.
-
:yeah: and law enforcement needs to start arresting these people making threats.
I THOUGHT THE LEFT WAS AGAINST BULLYING!
-
Isn't most of the hunting in South Africa on fenced reserves? My understanding is SA doesn't have a lot of free range hunts?
-
Be careful not to confuse "widespread outrage" with a handful of nutbars complaining on social media.
-
I'm officially outraged! >:(
Why should some lady get to go to South Africa and shoot an old giraffe and not be forced to give me the skull for my collection?!! :dunno: Nothing bugs me more than people taking part in a legal activity which I'm not personally in a position to do. Oh wait, that's not outrage, it's envy. :chuckle:
I'd be willing to bet that most people who're outraged by this couldn't find South Africa on a map if you asked them to and wouldn't have known that this particular giraffe was a darker color than most.
-
Who cares..........people get their panties in a bunch because they don't know anything about hunting and or culling.
-
when they get old and darker natural death isn't far away why not harvest a renewable resource for the meat trophy fee and what ever else they can use and yes in SA most if not all are on private game farms

don't make it a partisan issue. its an anti hunting issue
-
it is 100% partisan issue.Liberals want money for nothing these people sold a hunt got paid and got the meat from a dying animal. The liberal way would be let it die, waste.Who's whining over this?Who lacks the common sense to understand it.How many conservatives are running with peta, are vegan? etc etc etc.
It is what it is try giving this advice to someone that doesn't get it.
-
If this was a privately owned and cared for animal then I REALLY don't see the issue. I don't really have any issue with their model of reserve hunting so I don't want it to come across as if I do but they are essentially controlled livestock who have a really really big pasture. I don't see the difference between saying the taking of this giraffe is bad and saying a cattle rancher killing a cow is bad.
-
Well, let's see. The community got an influx of money, They got a ton of needed meat, an animal past it's prime and ability to contribute to the herd was culled and did not die wasting away in the desert of old age. What was the problem again ?

And probably privately owned to boot.
The problem is someone whose knowledge of Africa comes soley from the Lion King got their feelings hurt that Simba can't go out and sing and dance with his buddy anymore.
