I've been on the forum for years but recently changed my screen name from frogger to Jeremy S. My father has always wanted an opportunity at a bear but hasn't had the available time to do a spot and stock trip. I considered taking him on a guided trip over bait but once I calculated the cost of him hunting with me as a guest, I decided I would give it a go myself. I made the commute for 7 consecutive weekends from south of Seattle to Northern Idaho to maintain the bait and scheduled the best weekend for him once I had a couple bears coming in on the regular and he had his first oppourtunity ever! I documented my adventure and put it up on YouTube. Check out the video and please share and repost on social media if you enjoy it. Thanks all. :)

Congrats to you and your dad! That's a lot of driving on your part, over to Idaho and back every weekend.

Agreed. I tried to drive late nights when possible to avoid traffic and truck camped to cut down on lodging expenses. I felt passionate about setting him up though so it felt worth while.

Nice bear! Good on you for setting you dad up like that. Lol, I don't know how your dad goes back to playing pinochle after the shot, I'd be shaking like a leaf in a tree:)
