Title: Is the area around N. Fork of Chewelah Creek crowded in the fall
Post by: Billy74 on July 17, 2018, 03:00:02 PM: I know trying to get a straight answer about hunting spots is futile but thought I’d throw out a general question. I’m gonna take my boys up there in August and wanted to get in some scouting. Whats the pressure like along the creek if I planed to get as far off the road as I could. I believe this is unit 117

The problem with the question is that, many times, you can't productively hunt "as far from the road as possible" due to the fact that roads were placed in the easier grounds where deer, elk and moose are living.

Most of my best spots are right near the road, I just had to find low traffic areas that weren't getting blown up with 20 dudes walking out to the same vantage point each day.

That said, I'd reccomend finding places where decom'd roads and overgrown roads are. Bottom line is that you can do well near pressure and roads, you just have to be a little bit different than the average joe and use them to your advantage. Find where other people turn around and you're close to where you should be :twocents:

Yes that area is very popular.
Depends what season your hunting , but more than likely your gonna see other people , No matter the season.

With the multi season crowd, muzzleloader season is definitely more crowded than it used to be. However, if I had one week to really go for a buck, I'd choose MZ over MF :tup:
