So I was talking to this computer genius type today and he tells me a way that people can find your trail cameras easily even at night. Before I post how they do it, do you guys think it's a good idea to post the how they do it or could it do more harm then good?
-
Post it up,man
I'm not worried ,if they wanna hike out there at night and try to get it off the tree with all the bears I got on cam right now . :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

night vision

Night vision is one way, but they can just turn on their phone camera and it will pick up the purple light. He showed me with a remote.so they just walk around and find good spots with their camera on and find your camera.
-
That's pretty interesting!
-
Just make sure your cam is not pointed towards the road.
-
I doubt they would be walking around at night where my cameras are. Lol
-
I had learned this about remote controls but never tested on a trail camera.
Handy tip if you ever send a buddy to find your camera, if he can get close enough this would help him out.
I love being able to test the batteries in the TV remote using my cell phone camera. Heaven knows when I have burrowed into the couch I do not want to walk across the house for batteries unless I know they are dead :chuckle:
-
Woah... the TV remote thing just blew my mind. I had no idea this worked!
Knowing this would have come in handy a few times in the past couple years for me. :chuckle:

Ok what's the deal with the tv remote?
Does it have to be dark?
Do you actually take picture or just look at phone screen?
I wanna check this out

I just look through the phone camera at the remote where the signal/light is displayed. Push buttons and you will see it light up. I use it to see if batteries are dead and also to see if a single button is dead.

:dunno: :yeah: ...I just point my remote at the tv, if it works = battery good. :chuckle:

 Cannot argue with that.

I will admit though that I tried this with my tv remote.....nothing showed up on cam phone, but remote still worked. Now I’m gonna have to put in new batteries and try again :dunno:
