Title: My new truck...
Post by: asmith on July 28, 2018, 12:22:18 PM
Well, they wife and I decided to finally pull the trigger on a new truck.  One kid going off to college( :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:) and 2 left at home, so no need for a suburban and a my old truck(2010 GMC 2500), so we traded both in and got a 2018 Crew cab Chevy Silverado 3500 LTZ Z71 with the 6.6L.  Its getting delivered to Spokane this evening from Seattle area and I will pick it up Monday afternoon.  The wife wanted the high county model, but for a significant savings I went with the LTZ and got all the same options except the two tone interior leather colors and that huge ugly emblem on the side of the truck.

Ill be sure to post some pictures on Monday when I pick it up!

A crew cab should be big enough to take us all hunting..... dogs too.

I am still trying to figure out some of my stuff on my Ram I bought in Feb. sometimes the butt chiller turns on when I remote start and sometimes it doesn't. That thing is awesome in this weather, Congrats on a very nice rig! I am sure you will get hundreds of thousands of miles of loyal and comfy service from it!

Well, here she is!  Graphite metallic in color, so sometimes it looks green and some times it looks blue.  Just went down and put a sugtop shell with top rack on order as well.  I didn't realize those where so expensive, but it will be well worth it.  Should be here in 4-6 weeks.  Next will be a nice brush guard aka deer killer for the front.

Congrats....

Wow!....$64,000 for a pickup. Thats mind blowing.

There is a disconnect between us regular guys who think we are doing ok and you guys who are actually making good money.

Same goes for JB buying his $46,000 boat.

hey, to be fair I bought a new Ram 2500 this year too! I’m not doing any better than anyone else, I’m just farther in debt, that’s ok as long as I can keep making my payments and fueling them both up lol

Nice seat cover in that Dodge.
surprisingly that is a pretty low maintenance seat cover and has handled my crap pretty well, and it is easy to wash when I get it dirty. In fact it practically washes itself

You found a keeper!  Not your typical Wal Mart seat cover that’s all stretched out!

Nope! Custom fit! It also keeps the truck from getting too stinky!

Congrats on the new truck. I see a lot of them driving around. Seems to be the year to get a new truck with all the new ones on the road.

I can't even fathom paying that much for a truck, nice rigs!  I'll steer clear of the seat cover comments!  :)

I'm going to be trading in my Tundra on a Silverado 2500 or 3500 when I get back stateside in a week. Haven't quite narrowed down if it's going to be a 2500 or a 3500, all depends on what the dealer has available and what deals are going on. Can't wait to get into a diesel.

On a GM truck the diesel option is a little over 9000 dollars.  If a gas truck gets 15mpg and a diesel gets 20mpg assuming that fuel prices are the same for both and do not change the price of the diesel will break even at 180000 miles.  Food for thought.  The company I work for  no longer buys diesels only gas trucks.  We have way less problems now.

Ive heard some guys complain that the chevys are too boxy looking and prefer the roundness of the Ram truck. But for my money I think the full size chevys look great. Putting a canopy on em really makes them look cool.

Not sure about the problems but, unless there's a Carfax accident reported, you will always get that $9k back in resale/tradein value.
