I've used them for whitetail with bow and rifle. Surely would recommend them for rifle hunting, but for archery when the deer got in close they always seemed to see the bottom of the ladder and followed it up to the seat where I was, and the game was over.

I have the same style I bought from a member here. They are pretty solid and safe and depending on hunting style or option they are a great choice.

I think you need to brush up the ladder.  I mostly use climbers but if it was on a private piece of property and I used it for short evening hunts on the back 5 I would use a ladder over one of my climbers.

I got a two man Summit a couple seasons ago, nice and stable (of course installation is a key component to the rigidity of the system)
Pros: comfortable, spacious, feels safer
Cons: less mobility, heavy (3 person installation)
If you have a private chunk for whitetail it can be a game changer!
Note: if you archery hunt, raise shooting rail. Had a 5x5 WT walk under my stand at 3 yards but couldn’t lower my bow! If my son isn’t hunting with me, the extra seat holds my gear for a long sit.

It says 18' @ shooting rail, so it's about 15' @ platform.  Should be fine if the area you hunt has sufficient cover.   In my area i prefer hang-on's and require atleast 20-25' at platform.
