Since I'm in the north half of Idaho for the next 3 seasons, the species of deer I'm going after has changed as well as tactics.
I absolutely hate tree stands as I have fallen out of one and am looking at ground blinds. It won't hurt that bad if I fall out of a ground blind. :chuckle:
There seems to be an endless amount of ground blinds out there but I am looking for recommendations on which blinds hold up the best for us Northwest US hunters. Lots of reviews online are from the Midwest and Southeast and that does us no good out here.
Looking for one that is somewhat light and keeps me somewhat dry.
Can't break the bank on one but $200 and below is my budget.
What do y'all recommend?

If you are rifle hunting and using a chair/bucket you can look a Cabelas, Midway, Sierra Trading and find a number of Ameristep and more budget blinds. Get zipped Windows and full height door. Plan on staking well for wind. Bow is up the budget and just buy a Primos Double Bull.

I just bought the ameristep element. Really spacious and solid.

I have the Ameristep Battlefield blind that i use for archery elk and it plenty spacious and has multiple shooting wimdows. i have been rained on a bit with no issues but nothing like it will be in that area come November. I can bring it over for ya if you dont wanna buy one :tup:

Just dont leave them setup in bear country or you will just be pissing money down the drain

:yeah:
Or elk country had one torn to shreds by a bull a number of years ago. My bad for being lazy and leaving it up in our field. I always just used the cheap ameristep setup, worked great for me.

Another vote for ameristep

not lightweight, but the new 5 hub barronett blinds are ROOOOOOOMY! I have two 5 hub, one 4 hub with windows too large to be good for archery hunting (too easy to see in), and an ameristep that's lightweight and works fine. The Barronett blinds are great!

I always make my own as I go along. My pack includes a pair of hand snippers and a saw. Both double duty during cleaning of game. Nothing bulky and I can set up anywhere.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I pulled the trigger on an Ameristep this morning. Found a pretty good deal that was hard to pass up.
@HookedOnQuack I'll send you a pm later.
