I’m glad they took his boat and gear I hope they took his truck too

It happens a lot with some of the meat line guys that work area 13. Not sure how the wardens don’t pick up on that.

Great work LE. Thanks for protecting our resources from d-bags like this. I've posted on their website a question as to whether they could donate this to Salmon for Soldiers or the Fallen Outdoors All Veteran Community. Probably not but maybe some of you guys might post to repeat the request or suggest other organizations for veterans that might benefit. Just an idea.

What do you suppose that boat is worth? Expensive day of poaching for sure.

Either way. It helps some vets who need it. Wait! I'm a vet. I'm starting a new charity. Vets Without Boats Who Want Boats. The VWBWWB.

Donate the boat? No, the owner can still get it back. But if they don't get it back then the following law applies:
If seized property is forfeited under this section the department may retain it for official use unless the property is required to be destroyed, or upon application by any law enforcement agency of the state, release such property to the agency for the use of enforcing this title, or sell such property, and deposit the proceeds to the fish and wildlife enforcement reward account created in RCW 77.15.425.

To have that set up working that well with one person setting and operating kind of implies he's had ALOT of practice.

BT, you're such a killjoy with all your facts and laws.

Man, most days I can't keep four lines from getting tangled and bringing 10 to the boat is a pretty good feat as well.
Glad he got caught.

When I first moved to PA I heard guys would run these setups off their down rigger ball, which tells me this happens a lot. :bash:

I was in Des Moines years ago when they still had a lift :'(
A warden was hooked up to a guys trailer and they were swinging a boat onto the trailer. The guy said when can I get my boat back and the warden responded you can bid on it at the auction.
Supposedly he had found some hidden over limit fish in the boat. Scared me straight I’ll never forget that.

...and that's why seizures, especially done for egregious acts, are effective.
