just found out about this sight and would like to get your thoughts on hound hunting in the great Washington State. >:(
-
Where ya from?
-
Nice to meet you
-
I live in yakima. coon hunt all the time and got drawn for the puyallup unit this year for long tails. what a joke.

It's a sad state of affairs. We will loose another opportunity this year with the loss of coyote hunting with dogs, to include decoying. Only thing left for the average guy is coons and I suspect eventually that will be taken away as well either through the loss of the season or just no place left to run a dog. Best thing for a WA houndsmen to do it get lucky and get an Idaho permit or go down and run bobcats in OR. :'( It's really not worth spending thousands of dollars getting equipment and dogs to run coon for a few weeks a year, with the chance to be draw every few years to chase longtails.

or have wolves eat your favorite dogs.

>:( gotta love the WDFW DAMN THEY ARE THE BEST. :mor:

Well lets see the W.D.F.W. pays hound hunters to go and take care of the problem cats. Let me tell you if the hunter produces they pay well!! >:(The only way to reverse I-655 is to have everyone stop hunting for the state and timber companies and we would see our rights returned. This is the only way we will ever see Bear and Cougar hunting in Washington state again. My monthly fuel bill is high just to keep my dogs in shape for 10 days guiding in Montana and about 15-20 days in Idaho.

ya it sucks, i would love to guide with hounds

If you want to enjoy hound hunting stay away from being a guide. To many rich city dwellers that want a cat for there trophy room!!! I have more fun in Oregon running bobs than I have in five years of guiding.
-
had a family member that did it on a leased area in idaho for bear, he seemed to enjoy it. i would love to guide lions but i dont see that happening, but who knows maybe i wouldnt like it as much

I think I'm sending my best dog over to Idaho to get hunted since there aint chit here! Step Bro lives in Mountain Home, cant wait to get over there to have so fun.
-
I gather you run black and tan's :bash: I have a nice young male I am going to start on coons this spring.
