Ozonics Scent Elimination

I have seen where they used them in hunting blinds on utube videos. They claim that they work. I can’t vouch for it.

Nobody I know would waste their money on one. You can't cover human scent up 100%.

So are you saying if you can't ever cover human scent 100% then no form of scent control is worth it? What if it or something else covered 99% or 75% or 50% or 20% of human scent ?

Nothing can cover human scent. You breathe/exhale, sweat, shed skin cells etc. Ladies wear makeup ( at least on TV ) using the Ozinator.
I believe it works little bit, maybe, but not much. I've hunted for 45 years and have had bears 8 feet from me with no scent eliminator. I don't know of any product, even for clothes, that can eliminate odors or smells. Animal have a higher degree of sensitivity for odors than man.

How much is the Ozinator ?

I agree you can't get rid of it all together but their are things you can do to minimize it. If a deer winds you at 40 yards instead of 80 yards then that could be the difference between getting a shot or not.

Very true. Our cover up in the older days, was to stand around the fire and get our clothes smelling like a smokey campfire..

It looks like there are ozonics machines available from $100 to $500.
I don’t doubt that they can help to mask and reduce human scent.
The old school methods like grinding your boots into a pile of elk droppings and rubbing fir or pine branches on your clothing, or some of the new sprays and scent lock clothing help to reduce scent also. The difference between a deer getting a nose full of strong human scent VS a faint whiff, might make the difference between getting snorted at or killing one.

Get the wind in your favor, nobody mentioned this yet?

Best solution for sure. Even setting up downwind with a stand or blind isn’t a sure thing. The wind is fickle and will betray you at the worst possible time. I know that from experience.

I'm a non believer... Today I had 5 blacktails by my crappy burlap blind at 10 or less yards. Wind blowing right to them, and all I can smell is my pepperoni sticks from last year's muley.

I'd save my money. Unless you smell freakishly bad  :dunno:

Here's the thing. I hunt out of blinds made of branches and logs. Set up wind of active areas. Wind is checked often and come at me from many directions. Bear will walk right to the blind. Does will bust me 60 yards out and bucks (Whitetail) seem to walk into the wind and come up my back side not using much of any trail. Bear are not the problem. Whitetail bucks and blind are. They bust me every time. Tree stands seem to work but I no longer can sit long in one. The price of Ozonics doesn't matter if they work. I'm looking for opinion from people that have  tried it.

How do you keep the wind in your favor all day when hunting in a tree stand in the mountains of eastern Washington??

Though I don't do much hunting from a stand/blind these days, I used an Ozonics HR-200 extensively for several years and had a lot of success with it. Among other animals, I harvested a black bear and a whitetail deer that both circled directly downwind from my blind and I'm confident both would have caught my scent if I weren't using the Ozonics. The bear sat about 20 yards downwind of my blind for over an hour one before heading into the bait (I was hunting on the Quinault Reservation) and offering me a shot.
Nothing is 100% guaranteed to eliminate your scent all the time. The Ozonics isn't cheap and it only works if you're in a fixed location like a deer stand, but this is still the most effective product I'm aware of for reducing your scent while hunting.
