I'm not a real good person to ask because the way I hunt I have very little uses for all the bells and whistles on the newer callers. My go to caller for most of my hunting is a nearly 20 yr old Minaska M-1 Bandit, fits in my pocket and is ultra reliable. I do hunt coyotes a lot, hunting them in up to 5 states a year, Just came back from 6days of hunting at the PM Hunt and convention in NV, called in 30 plus and killed 9. I usually hunt with a Minaska and a CS-24 for really big country. This year I took a FoxPro Crossfire to use as I won it at the PM hunt in Tucson a couple years ago, it called coyotes, as did the Minaska and hand calls.
I've been using various e-callers since the 1960's(battery operated portable 45 rpm phonograph/record player, the original compact disc) they all call critters if you have the right stand and do everything else right. An expensive caller won't make a better predator hunter of you. It might add a couple more coyotes if you are an experienced hunter and have uses for the extra options.
If I could have only one new caller a new Banshee would cover just about everything, hate the remote, infact have little use for the FoxPro remotes in general exept the Tx-500/505 with the numeric keypad and 10 presets. I usually use the sound list as a storage and just use the presets out hunting. MY CS-24 is an old one with the tx-550 and my crossfire has the Tx-505 and I shut off the Foxbang.

If you go to walmart dig around on the shelf and find the higher mah batts, they're mixed in with lower capacity batteries and I like to match them all.
Alkaline batts won't work in my CS-24B, I tried..doesn't work for more than about 3 seconds at most. (I just had to try out it soon as it came in the mail) :chuckle:
there's a BIG difference from the 2400 mah and the 1400 mah batteries, so do some digging!

Anyone worked with the ICOtec GC300? I see it list for around $65
I use a Icotec 350 and it has worked form me. I broke the decoy/aux button on the remote after my warranty expired and contacted them. They sent me a new remote at no charge and told me to keep the old one just in case I wanted to cannibalize it for parts.
I chose the 350 because I wanted the ability to load my own sounds which you cannot do with the 300. I thought the ability to play two sounds at the same time would be cool and thought the 350 would have that feature too, but it does not.
Overall, I am pleased with my Icotec though I didn't get the 2 call feature on it. I have it paired with a Foxpro Blackjack decoy.

So when you buy a predator call. Are you getting the standard programming or do you get the custom calls.

Both. If you are hunting private land that doesn't have a bunch of callers using the same sounds then there are many good sounds that have good clarity. You can always mix in a hand call at the same time, as well. If the animals are conditioned to calling, and depending on how much pressure they get, you might have to change tactics immensely and to the point that calling might not even work.

The remote is nice and the sounds.
But it is not water proof at all.
The covers that plug the jack ports don't stay shut. And are hinged to fold down instead of up. Seems like that would catch a lot of water.
The remote seals are not much better.
And the battery cover on the main unit doesn't stay tight.
If you are going to buy one you might have to run it in a plastic bag. During we weather.
I am going to keep it , but try to seal some things up before going to the field. For the price I think they could have done better.
