Title: Truck Purchase
Post by: Wazukie on September 23, 2018, 08:21:33 PM
Looking at purchasing a 1998 Dodge 2500 Laramie SLT  24v Turbo Diesel, it's in great shape and only has 118,000 miles.  Any idea a good price for this truck would be?   Want to make sure I don't pay to much.  Thanks

I was going to say to check out the block for the 53 casting issues, but I think that's 1999-2001 models so it should be ok.

2wd? 4wd? Auto Stick?

I had a couple of 5 speed sticks I spun the 5th gear off of towing other than that it was an awesome truck.

Trans been done?

Anyway with older non smog diesels KBB and NADA become less relevant. Especially for clean, low mileage, 1 or 2 owner trucks that were babied. I could see that truck selling in the high teens easily.

I sold a 99 for $12K, but it was beautiful.. Check for the 53 block for sure. And save up to rebuild the trans.
