I've decided to breakdown and get a bino harness/case setup. Never used one before, but I watched my glass get hammered this last weekend out on the high hunt. I need something to offer a little protection. There's a plethora of options out there now; Kuiu, Mystery Ranch, Alaska Guide Creations, FHF, Marsupial, etc...
Anyone have experience with one or the others and can give a pro/con list?

I have the Vortex Alaskan Guide Creations harness and I got my dad the Kuiu bino harness, I think I’d prefer the Kuiu one honestly. Less pockets but I like it more.

I had my swaros in a kuiu harness it worked well and easy but it let alot of stuff in because the back was open

I run pretty lean as far as "stuff" that I need handy. The more streamlined the better. My wind checker and range finder are pretty much all I need handy, and my rangefinder is on my pack waist belt. I'd prefer to have less stuff on my chest, that's why I've not picked up a case yet.

I love the AGC harness I have. Works great and has the perfect amount of pockets for what I carry and need close by. The only thing I wish was that the top was able to tuck away somewhere so I didn't have to open it every time I need my binos. Next time I buy one I'll try to find one where the top will open and tuck away. opening and closing was little louder than I realize this year while archery hunting.

Kuiu seems far less bulky to me but like said before the back of it is open. The rain cover seems pretty nice though so maybe it helps with that. I do know that’s its nice and comfy and streamlined. Just make sure you have the right size for your Bono’s so the top stays up, my dad got new binos that are too small for the XL harness and the top doesn’t stay up now.

I was really skeptical of liking these at first. Ended up going with the Alaska Guide Creations and haven't looked back. And I've really come to appreciate the couple little side pockets it has. They come in handy for a wind checker or whatever.

I bought the Kuiu harness a few years back and 2 other family members bought other brands... We all use Kuiu harnesses now. I too prefer it to be streamlined. I've pulled those binos out in all day nasty weather and they are dry and clear. I went years without a harness and it was always a problem with bad weather. Not a worry anymore

Take a look at the muley freak harness. I chose it over the AGC just for that reason. I really like the functionality of it, the lid and the tethers are money compared to others I’ve had. Easy and quiet one hand access. The lid closes backwards towards the chest so it doesn’t open up in heavy brush. I think the AGC would outlast it durability wise but as long as it holds up it’s sweet. Nice compact package for my 10x42 leicas and RF. Fits like a glove

Fhf all the way
I just ordered a new fhf to go with my new binos!

I run the kuiu and I love mine...stays right up high on your chest and out of the way. I don't have a problem keeping stuff out of mine with the top shut. I also like the option it comes with to take the cover off and just run the strap. The new model has the velcro bottom to hold your rangefinder pouch or extra ammo if you want to.

I have been running the Fhf for two years and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Advantage of the fhf is you can tuck the cover flap behind the Binos when in nice weather or open cover to allow easier access.

I've had quite a few and the FHF has been my favorite. I am currently running the AGC but honestly I am not a fan at all. Its loud and the lid is garbage. It's hard to clear your glass without catching the eye cups on the lid. Shoulder straps are ridiculously wide and rub the sides of my neck raw. I actually pulled shoulder harness off my old fhf and put them on the AGC. Cell phone sleeve is pretty slick though and I very much like the pockets.

Alright good advice everyone. Gives me some stuff to consider. Ordering one of them tomorrow regardless.

Love my FHF as well.

One vote here for the Badlands bino harness. I have it and love it

Should of been first in line for the AGC kiss for sale in the classifieds. Love mine and really well made with max protection compared to a couple others mentioned that may be a bit more compact. :twocents:

I've been running the Mystery Ranch version for two seasons now. Side pockets are great for keeping range finder and snacks. Zipper pouch holds my license and extra bullets. The zipper pouch also doubles super well as a feed bag full of pretzels.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, get the one you like and you wont ever look back and wonder why you used those goofy, uncomfortable suspender style set ups.

I'm very happy with my Kuiu.
it's simple, adjusts well, the case stays where it should while I'm glassing.
I looked at the others and couldn't go with a case that had fasteners to undo. Noisy and complicated.
I also paid a lot of attention to where the straps and tensioners were relative to my backpack.
I never know the Kuiu is on under my pack straps.
I do wish I'd purchased the XL size for extra space for my windchecker and possibly rangefinder.
I would never use a bino pack that had velcro. Too noisy.

I have the Kuiu. There's a lot a like about it and a few things I don't. They have since revised the design once since I got mine so I'm not sure if these have been addressed or not. 1) If I've been walking through the trees, there's always some needles in the eyecups because the back doesn't always completely cover them. 2) I REALLY wish there was a strap that went from the shoulders to the pouch because went you take your binos out, which is the only thing that holds the pouch in place, the pouch tends to fall down your torso, requiring you to use 2 hands to reholster your binos, or doing some sort of strange leaning over maneuver to get them back in the pouch with one hand. Having a strap from shoulders to pouch would fix this. A strap there would also fix the issue of the whole harness coming off when unbuckling the binos from the harness (while using a tripod for example). I've considered altering mine, but I don't have a sewing machine. Overall though, I'm satisfied with it.
