Nice bull for me. 20 yards. No cow call or bugleing. Recurve bow. Bull was bedded when I found him, and shot him bedded.

Making a good shot on a bedded animal is one of the more difficult archery shots there is. Congratulations.

RadSav, I'd never shot a bedded animal before. And never practiced it. But I do know my basic anatomy and practiced hard this year after not hunting with the bow for many years. Arrow clipped the off side front lung lobe, nicked spinal column and punctured the near side lung. Arrow did not pass thru. I did run up and drive another arrow in the heart to make sure. I was really surprised that he didn't get up and run. Figured that by just nicking the spine, after a few seconds he would have. But that heart shot was a brutal killer. Done. Graveyard dead.
