Title: Winduk bearings
Post by: Stein on October 11, 2018, 05:10:28 PM
Anybody happen to know the size of bearing Winduk uses?  I would like to support them by buying direct, but they charge $12 to ship two bearings which is a bit crazy.

Don't know size, but press them out and take them to a good hardware store like an Ace store or maybe a bearing house if you have one nearby.  Hopefully you will find them at one of those places.

They use a really cheap one.  Skagit Arms used to sell replacement stainless steel ones.  Possibly call them first.  I did find some replacements.  They are Shuster R4AZZ.  You may find that the shipping charges are not bad compared to the price you will pay to replace them locally.

Thanks, I ended up buying some .25 x .75 bearings from eBay, pretty much exactly as H2O posted.  They don't seem to spin as easily although they are way more smooth.  The new ones are sealed and the original ones were open, probably the difference.  I'll take them out side by side and see what they do in the real world.
