Kinda looks like two wolves running together

There is some debate, but the animal in back isn’t fluffy enough to be a wolf imo. This is in Alberta, Canada for reference. The lion just looks funny because it is blasting off with its back legs, a view you never really see. The guy who got the photo is also a veterinary virologist at the university up there, he says cougar and coyote, has other photos of yotes at that time period. All I know for sure is it isn’t a house cat @dman.

If that second critter is a cat, it is either a crossdresser or identifies as a wolf.

Bobcat chasing a chihuahua

 :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

For sure a lion chasing a yote. The tail and ears give the cat away and I would say by the size the k9 us a yote.

Mountain Lions have thick bases on their tails as they use them a lot more than canines for balance (more muscle and connective tissue)

A canines tail is a lot narrower at the base, it just kinda hangs there when they run.

I'd say Cougar judging by the tail.

Ambiguous enough to be fun to argue about, for sure  :chuckle:

Team cougar here.  Ears are telling but hard to see and not definitive.  It's the tail, particularly how it looks where it joins to the body, that's the giveaway for me.

Ditto on the ambiguity.  I lean to the chaser NOT being a cougar, based on my observation of several in the wild.  The single most striking thing about cougars I've seen is the tail.  On live cougars in almost any position their tail appears huge, all the way out.  The base of the critter in the photo looks right for cougar but not for its full length.

Also, the legs and paws on the chaser appear too thin and tapered to be the muscular lower legs of a cougar.

That’s obviously a kangaroo.

Definitely a Hereford.

Or a cougar

Back one is a cougar. Hair is way to short to be a wolf. Tail is way too think and ears are too small.
