Have been working to close the deal on this buck since the opener after this guy showed up on cam about 3 weeks ago. After a few long days of beating the brush in the clear cut he frequents (passing on several legal bucks), sitting from sun up to sun down in the timber we had him on cam on, cruising skids and every trail around the cut, he finally showed up in daylight. My father in law spotted a small spike and a doe in a marshy patch on the edge of a cut and we were just sitting and watching them, when all of a sudden "BIG BUCK". The rest is history.
Pix of him before and after.

Ethan used to get animals like that in his area.

Pretty cool looking development on the left. Wonder what happened to him for it to form that way. Congrats on a big un.

Why do you cover your faces ?
-
I unfortunately work in an industry where hunting isn't really well thought of both with my clients and peers. So just in case - I black it out. Until I retire in 20 years, then it's game on.

That deer doesn't know if he's coming or going... at least on the left.
