Title: Upland bird hunting in idaho
Post by: shorthair15 on October 31, 2018, 08:25:51 AM
I got a email this morning from Idaho fish and game and they setup my acct I’m 50 percent disabled vet so I get reduced fee hunting license and tags. Has any one hunted upland birds there. Just wondering if it was good and worth the drive. Thanks

Idaho is one of the best states to go to for upland bird hunting. All of it is physical hunting if its similar to what we do there though. I'm not sure how disabled you are but that is something to keep in mind.Good luck if you go.

They've got better chukar hunting than here, but the rules for where they live still apply. If you're able to move around in that sort of country it can be worth the drive.

Talked to idfg yesterday looks like I will be heading to nampa the biologists were a ton of help even told me where to go! Should be fun I can still walk pretty good just walked over 20 miles chasing blacktail the last 3 times out hunting deer. Sent me a map with directions and areas to try for Huns and chukars aka thunder chickens. They where aware that I’m a disabled vet there is some walking they said but it’s not to bad and the area isn’t very steep I know my limits so I won’t push it!
