I was working my way around the bottom of a grown up clear it and caught movement in front of me after a closer look through my scope I confirmed it was a cougar and wasted no time pulling the trigger down went the cat and off ran the second one that was with it. Stepped it off and it was about 30 yards.

......Nicely done, dang things are everywhere! Deer and elk killing machines, amongst other things, one killed a buddys horse a few years ago over east. Once again, way to go

Good job, hope it is a record kill year for cougars.

Great going, to bad you didnt get a double. Do you know how much it weighed?
Male or female?

Nice! One less calf killer on the loose!

Probably because there are tooo blasted many of them due to lack of pressure from hounds to keep the number in check.

Very cool, nice job!

Congrats on a nice cat!

Thanks guys, this was a female not the biggest cat I’ve killed but still not to bad she was right around 90 to 100 lbs. just happy to remove her and future litters from the area. Neither one of the cats had any idea I was in the clear cut until I pulled the trigger. The one that was with her ran straight up to my dad however he had just set his rifle down to strap on his back pack and had no opportunity to shoot when he reached for his rifle she turned and ran into the timber finding another gear. My cousin ended up shooting a smaller one the next day back up in the same area.

Happy ending for two of them felines, too bad the third one didnt meet its maker.

I've always wondered...how is the cougar meat on the dinner table?
saw a few the past 2 years, more than in my 51 years of hunting the woods. Passed on taking one, even with combo license, tag in wallet.
But wouldn't want to kill one unless good on the dinner table.
