Title: Late Modern 117 Hunt
Post by: rashannon81 on November 05, 2018, 10:26:03 PM
Early season was excitingly unsuccessful for my first WA hunt. I hit 346 and 152 and saw lots of does and a fork in 152, and not a single ungulate in 346, but tons of fresh sign.

I'll be headed north to 117 in the No Name Lake area for the late hunt.

Whats the rut status up there? I heard things are starting late so I think that will be good news for me!

Any pointers for hunting up there feel free to chime in.

Good luck to everyone on that rut hunt. Rattle em in.

I heard the small bucks are getting after it already.

my only advice, which is my strategy, is to find an area with sign/trails etc and sit on them. As the rut gets going, deer will be active more and more each day so patience is key.

Great to hear. Sounds like it's good timing. I'll find the trails Friday and rattle all day long Saturday. Not looking for a trophy. Just meat in the freezer. But if a trophy just so happens to pass by I wouldn't be disappointed.
