My father in law just got back and sent me these pics of grizz at their camp. The daylight one was him on their deer gut pile 3 hours after they left.
-
Where was this?
-
Nice pics! That is a handsome bear!
-
Those are some good pics. What a big bear! 3 hours is cutting it close :o
-
Those got to be 2 different bears don’t they? That night bear looks huge.
Where?
-
Looks healthier than most of the grizz I have seen in wa or Id
-
Just north of Grand Forks B.C. Look on a map and see where Grand Forks is and tell me we dont have grizz. I hunted there a few times with my inlaws and always seen grizz tracks just north of the U.S boundry.

They're commonly seen below the border there in WA.

Incredible animals! Thank you for sharing!!!

Recently shown some pictures of a print that were wider than my friend's boot with the claws clearly shown. It was east of SR 410 near Naches.

Hearsay from collaring types say at least 70 close by, would not be surprised if it is double that, thanks, great catch!!!!!!!!

35 years ago give or take, me and a partner were up in the 30 mile area of the Methow, just a stones throw from the border, we had sat down close to the headwaters of the Chewuch river(where we were it was just a creek) to eat some lunch, we had eaten lunch and were sitting about 30 yards apart watching a hillside. We both fell asleep and woke up about an hour and a half later, we grouped up and started to walk out, on our way out we came across "bear" tracks that were bigger than a paper plate and they were in the tracks that we made on our way in :bash:, the guy I was with was born and raised in Montana and immediately claimed "that aint no black bear and they're fresher than a s@#t pile on a 90 degree day!" We hightailed it out of there looking over our shoulders the whole way out, we were walking through brush that was just about 5-6 feet tall, very nerve-racking :yike:. Talked to the Game guy we knew at the time he said "oh ya, they bounce back and forth all the time up there, at least ya didn't step on him while he was taking a nap while you were getting out of Dodge" :chuckle:
