The hunt was perhaps not one you might dream of, but it was on for the books. A struggle with success in the end.
This buck died the afternoon of the fifth day, fifty yards from the road where he was standing, tending a doe, when I turned the corner.
Glad my road buck came on a solo hunt.

Congrats man! Did you have the little black truck with the soft topper? I was in the lifted white Chevy and the one that told you that you were crazy to be sleeping in the back when it was so cold :chuckle:. Congrats on a beautiful buck!did you guys tag out as well

We did; the day after we ran into you guys we went back and killed a buck we had spotted earlier that day. Beautiful boxy 4x4 with eyeguards. Super fun hunt. It was my first time in the unit and we had a lot of fun glassing and sizing up rutting bucks. Love to do it again sometime.
