I've got some old pictures in my albums that don't need to be there. I can see no way to delete them. Is it possible to remove them?
-
I deleted one for you as a test....a jacket you sold. If you want, pm me or list the ones or say all.....i can do it pretty easy.
-
So deleting pictures is now an admin only function? Used to be that users that posted could delete their own pictures that they posted. Guess this will make me think twice before I post anything again.
-
Not sure if it is admin only....I just know we can.

Is there another admin that might know how a user would delete their own media (picture) files?

I tagged Dale to see if he can help out.

Members can modify posts or delete photos if you do it within a certain amount of time. After that time you can't modify or delete. One reason for example is because someone can get upset over something totally unrelated and start deleting and that ruins topics for everyone else. My best advice is if you don't want something on the forum, don't post it, we don't want to have to deal with members deleting material that ruins topics for everyone.

So......
@netcoyote
If you have old pics of stuff from classifieds that are aged and you can't delete then we can help.

A few years ago we COULD delete our own image files. One of the recent server updates seems to have broken a lot of links to older images in threads so they can't be seen by anyone reading those old threads anyway. When I find a broken link I used to try to update it. No more.
I've also noticed that even though images that have broken links still continue to rack up viewing counts. SOMEBODY is looking at those files. I suspect is has something to do with social media links directly to HF files. If I wanted to post an image to other social media platforms I would have done it. Spoiling a thread for others because I want to delete an old image seems like a pretty lame excuse.
I'll be a lot more limited to what, or if, I choose to post again.
