My wife and I liked Yakima Steak Company
-
2nd Street Grill is solid.
-
I’ve been in Yakima area 14 years having move out here from NYC where the competition and restaurants were high.
I’ve tried all the upper end eateries in the Yakima area and can’t suggest one decent one for the money.in fact very disappointed and in consistent. Cowiche was very dispointing and a waste of money and not much better than fast food.
Maybe the Sportsmen but the chef left a few years ago.
-
The IndianTAj lunch buffet was probably the best food/ deal in Yakima.i know owners and good people but can’t keep a decent chef there for long
-
Jeans cottage inn,Union Gap. 14 oz. steak and hash browns with gravy.
-
2nd Street Grill, just down the street from the court house. I don't know if their the best but I will stop there whenever I'm in town.
-
35 years here in Yakima so I've literally eaten everywhere. I've also been in almost every kitchen from prosper to Roslyn. Two places I recommend to people is 2nd Street if they are with a lady friend and if you are solo or with the guys you gotta hit up the best kept secret in Yakima......Famous Burger!!!! Bring an apetite!
-
I agree with Karl about famous burger! But our favorite is gold creek! Make the half hour drive west and try it.
-
Second street is mediocre these days. Cowiche Canyon for a nicer place and :yeah: famous burger is what’s up for a Berger joint type place and they have good Pho

you order burgers at famous burger!?!?! :chuckle: all this famous talk I'm gonna have to get a #23 for lunch :EAT:

Provisions or E Z Tiger are two newer popular spots. If you want a $17.00 big prime rib West Valley Tavern Friday or Sat. Nights.

There are certain people I will always listen to when it comes to Restaurant advice.
Delivery drivers and Refrigeration Techs.
I assume your one of the 2?
My refer techs have steered me away from some great places to eat. Good food, nasty kitchens.
-
Provisions or Zesta Cucina
-
Famous Burger and Teriyaki is a great spot for lunch. Can get a chicken teriyaki and get 3 lunches out of it.
Antojitos is another good place for lunch. Chicken tacos with raw onions and cilantro are great.
Tea Garden has a good Chinese buffet.
Kabob House has good gyros.
Minors makes a great $15 hamburger. It's gotten too popular. Used to be able to go in and get a burger, fries and soda for under $10, not anymore.
We like Gasperetti's for a nicer dinner.
Kyoto is great for sushi and hibachi.
We have ate at Provisions once and it was good.
West Valley Tav prime rib is a great deal. Comes with baked potato and veggies. Plus drinks are reasonable there.
Gold Creek is a nice trip out of town and they are famous for their fish and chips.
Another good drive is Red's in the Yakima Canyon.
I've had good food at Cowiche Canyon, but it's over-priced.
-
Hmmmmm.....I don't know if I'd believe some Pepsi guy...he is probably steering you away from his competitors place.
:chuckle:
-
We have always had a nice time at Sea Galley in Union Gap, and the WalkAbout creek saloon in Naches is pretty good.
-
Famous Burgers is great, cant go wrong there.
Majors with spud mcveys (beer battered fries)
The pub

Famous burger as said. I also like smittys, Daniels kitchen, and there’s a ton of great Mexican food.

Plus sea galley has some wicked drinks, i  :IBCOOL:know not food, but you have to have some adult refreshments to wash down all the good food.
-
Gold Creek is always good, I'm also a fan of the prime rib dinner at WV tavern. I'm sure if you go there a few of us Hunt-wa peeps can meet up there with you.

I've eaten at Carousel for a couple of special occasions and was pleasantly surprised. It's a french restaurant, prepare to spend some time if you go there.
Zesta Cucina is good, as previously mentioned.
Santiagos is also nice.
My favorite is El Pastor, though it is far from fancy.
-
Try the taco shack in selah! 😍
-
+1 on the beer battered fries at majors . I love minors but those fries at majors may be the high cholesterol death of me .
-
No frills, no gimmicks. Jeans cottage inn in union gap. Big rib eye steak and a plate full of fries for 18 bucks.
-
Second street is mediocre these days. Cowiche Canyon for a nicer place and :yeah: famous burger is what’s up for a Berger joint type place and they have good Pho
They sell burgers and pho at the same restaurant?
-
Yep the owner is Vietnamese
-
Another place that has great prime rib is The Little Dutch Inn for $15.00. WV has alittle more generous cut, no potatoe, veggie instead.

Famous Burger was the first thing that popped into my head!
-
Xochimilco has a killer seafood burrito. They put a lot of seafood in it. White sauce is addictive. Santiago's has the best fish tacos bar none in Yakima. We split the order.
-
You aint had a burger until you try a ranger burger at the laredo in naches. See what happens when you tell them to add bacon. It should be called a 911 burger!

El Porton, Union Gap
