Fake news? Nooooo thats a first!
-
To steal an old saying that is not a cat, that is Arnold Swarzakitty!!
Thing looks downright buff, LOL
-
That picture has been making the rounds for the last month!! It was actually taken near LaGrande OR about 3 years ago by a relative of a friend. Still an impressive cat!!

I tried to tell the Facebook it was fake news but nobody wanted to listen.
-
😂My buddy showed me that pic about a month ago and said it was from trout lake also. Someone got some mileage with that story.
-
I was told the same by guys I met who were out Mushroom hunting. Guess that photo is posted in Trout lake store and the story is still spreading. They showed me the same photo off their phone.
There was a large cat shot somewhere near trout lake this year, just not sure if a photo of that cat ever surfaced.

I got it off my sisters fakebook from Kansas, but we did grow up in that area.🤣
-
The picture looks like it was enhanced. Looks odd to.me.
-
:yeah: or its just the ole long arm setting that makes the cats head look huge.
Still a nice kitty though.

Its called standing way behind the cat while your buddy takes a picture from below the cat! Makes them look bigger but that is still a really nice lion and a giant no matter how they took the picture or where it was actually shot :chuckle: Even if its fake news glad it was posted!
-
There’s a guy who posted in this thread who is friends with the guy who killed the lion. It’s not enhanced. It’s not from Trout Lake. It’s legit. There is a good angle on the photo making the cat look bigger, but like Idaho guy said, it’s a giant either way.

.

Cody's oregon cat is a freak and was pure muscle! I've seen every picture there is of his cat and its huge any way you look at it. Based off of pictures i think it's significantly bigger than the legit 197# cougar that was caught/tranqued and weighed in WA last year.
-
That's a long arm
-
Yeah, so what. Who cares. It's a huge cat.
-
That’s a dandy!
-
Was there an official weight on that cat? Thing is huge!
-

I care that's why problem with that, that cat has a long arm so it must be really big
-
Big Cat with out a doubt, but some of the pictures take away from the cat-trying to make it look bigger than it is. Based on some of the pictures it looks like a Tiger without the stripes....
-
That's the pic and that's why I asked and that's why I don't use Facebook... Drama and lies...
-

They didn't weigh it. He got it in the bottom of a nasty canyon so they took the hide, skull, and all the meat they could carry.
-
Everyone has an opinion, this is that stupid drama I was talking about... doesn't matter if it's long armed or not. The cat is BIG, was big. Whatever... I wanted to know if it was shot near Trout Lake. Not what you guys thought about longarming in the photo. That was it. It seems like some folks don't even read all the other posts before they just start typing...
Kevin Bacon wasn't in Footloose...
-
Hey the cat is big and it takes long arms to reach around it and hold it up. :chuckle:
I think if you shoot it you get to take pictures however you want, :twocents:
Not like the photo is what gets anything in the record books.
-
I know, it just seems like some folks immediately attack it for what it's not worthy of, instead of just appreciating the chance to see it in the first place...
-
That's a long arm
I think you and H20 are talking about different arms. Your “long arm” I believe refers to the cats arm, not the fact the hunter is “long-arming” for the pic. I could be wrong but just wanted to toss a little water on the fire before it’s gets over heated.
Like just about everyone else noted, that’s a big arse elk and deer eating machine. Congrats to the hunter.

You can see the guy's hand on it, too. He can't be that far back.
-
Nice cat
Kevin bacon was in footloose😆😆
-
Intentionally taking deceiving "long arm'' photos if for the guys ego and detracts from a great animal. A great cat like that can and should stand on its own merits.

Dude why would you do that!?!? Is it even a legit huntwa thread if its not a total dumpster fire by page 3????

Yes we are on my end anyhow that is one big cat!!

Guy I work with showed me this picture this morning , apparently it was killed in Rimrock last weekend :chuckle:.

It's a great cat. Why not leave it at that? What difference does how they took the photo actually make? Answer: none.

:yeah: :yeah: :yeah: Truth!!! :chuckle:

Long arm, short arm, guys a midget....doesn’t matter, that’s a BIG cat.
-
I wish jerry :chuckle:
That cat would be super intimidating on the paw

Yep. He does look a little on the short side! :chuckle:

It is a great cat. I like the photo with him bear hugging it.
Long arming is a time honored tradition among fishermen. A group that appreciates embellishments and out right lies. I know a guy that took an antelope head in to the taxidermist and gave instructions that the horns be held up off the head as much as the hair would allow. Gotta gain that extra inch for the wall. I don't see any difference between that and sitting 10 feet behind your animal. Still deceitful and a misrepresentation. Sneer if you like. It's my opinion.

If you ask me, the people who bring up and criticize and squabble over the layout of photos are what detracts from great animals and great hunts. I don't understand what would even be the point of the debate over it. This is a great example of why people don't post photos on here. I truly wish it would stop, but I know better.
-
nailed it... :yeah:
-
I don’t feel any harm is meant by it. :dunno:
There are so so many “fake” photos these days, folks are always wondering if “it’s real, or altered”
I too agree that these type photos distract from a really big nice cat.
