Title: Any good Wirehair Breeder around??
Post by: jrebel on December 30, 2018, 06:49:48 PM: I found a couple in ID but their web pages are from 2013??? Where is everyone getting their WHP?

When I was looking for mine, somebody here suggested that I get in contact with Carol Ptak for more information on the breed. At that time, about 6 years ago, she lived down around Rochester. She recommended a very short list of breeders who specialize in authentic Korthals Griffons as opposed to standard WPGs. I can't say that I'm any better off by going with one of the recommended breeders, but I'm certainly happy with the dog I got.

My buddy breeded his bitch and sadly only 2 survived because of her age.. the 2 that made it didnt have as much white or as much long hair as the mother. The sire had shorter hair, but at least had a beard and eyebrows. My current WHP is handsdown one of the best dogs I have ever owned. Great family dog, great hunter, easy demeaner, ect. I need another so this one can help train the new one.

They gauretee there dogs for 18mo agains health issues. Pm me if you want anymore info.
