Interested myself. Unfortunately, my pup was not born yet. Any current info on the Sportsman show?

I like the first day when it's mostly practice and any dog can do it. You get little fellas like corgi's walking down the ramp to get their stick.
It seems like the only breed that has a chance to win are black labs.

my question should have been more around this..do i have to pre register for the first day practice/open jumping?
im more interested in doing that with mine i just want to get her out jumping off a dock.
not looking to compete for a medal, just wear out the pup and have some fun

Are they doing it this year? They had stopped it for the last couple of years. When they do have it, I have just seen the people and dogs walk in and go to registration.

Maybe it's in the rules somewhere?
Warning...there's a lot of rules...

Black labs having the only chance to win. Thats funny stuff. Not seeing the competition coming this year. Even checked other organization event calendars

Have you ever been to one? I’ve never seen another breed come within 8 feet of the winner, who’s always been a black lab.

Nashville '16. Little sheltie mix cleared 29-6. A mini greyhound looking thing was almost tied. One yellow lab mix was about a meter short. Other labs there seemed lucky to reach 15-18'. No doubt labs can sail and have the drive for it, many more slendet breeds can fire like a rocket and launch at the end of the dock more efficiently.

well shoot....my lab's red! :chuckle:
bummer if it wont be there this year!
