OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington state’s lieutenant governor said he wouldn’t preside at Gov. Jay Inslee’s State of the State speech because he’s concerned people might bring concealed weapons into the joint session of the Legislature.
The Daily Herald newspaper of Everett reported that Lt. Gov. Cyrus Habib said no threats had been made, but he was concerned because the state House of Representatives, where the speech takes place, does not have a policy banning concealed weapons.
The House and Senate ban openly carried weapons in their galleries, and the Senate bans concealed guns as well.
Habib, who is blind, said he is concerned the House policy leaves elected officials vulnerable.
Democratic Rep. John Lovick, of Mill Creek, the speaker pro tem in the House, was to preside in Habib’s absence.

What a candy ass. Sad our tax dollars pay that guy. Anything to advance the anti gun agenda. :bash:
-
Buncha chicken tirds running our state into the ground and trying to tell me how to live my life , what I can and can't own and or do and they take my money on top of it .

Is he concerned about his security detail carrying concealed or just the rest of the peasants? Maybe Inslee ran the state patrol budget out campaigning for president and told the LT he was on his own.

It's almost like they think gun owners in this state are mad at them or something .... :chuckle:

I think there is probably a number of these officials who know that at some point their anti-gun policies and direct violations of the 2A may very well get to the point where things could go side ways and result in direct violence against them.
Law abiding citizens will only take so much of their rights being trampled and their voices being ignored before they realize some type of direct action will be the only way to shut these people down. No justice from the politicians, no justice through the courts; time will tell. :dunno: :dunno:
-
If they had any sense, the fear would spread.......and they would make themselves scarce. Not much of a comfort zone for the left anymore.

I forgot we had a lieutenant governor?

hypothetical is one thing, but this speech could easily be taken out of context. Let's do steer clear of dangerous talk here on HW. :twocents:
